Scout Troop 265 is always looking for future leaders
Tom Hall
Scout Master
Tom has been in Scouting for over 33 years (since he was seven years old!). Tom earned his Arrow of Light as a youth, joined Boy Scouts, the Order of the Arrow (Brotherhood Member), earned his fifth-year Pipestone, worked on Camp Staff at Seven Ranges and earned his Eagle Rank. Tom is also a Merit Badge Councilor for six different topics.
Tom is a “big brother” to everyone who knows him; every Scout in our Troop respects and looks up to Tom. He always puts his Scouts first and is a very hard working Scouter.
Tom joined our unit in 2014, and our Troop has only gotten better and stronger.

Troop 265 Leaders List
Bob Kneen (AKA "The Kneen Machine")
Assistant Scout Master
Bob Kneen is the essence of Scouting. He started in Scouting as a Cub and earned his Arrow of Light, he immediately joined Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle with a Palm and is a member of the Order of the Arrow (Vigil Member). He founded Troop 265 in 1987 as our Scout Master; he recently moved into the Assistant Scout Master role approximately five years ago.
Bob has led Scouts through high adventures Sea Base (3 times!) and Philmont (5 times!). Bob also led our Troop on our own high adventure (outside the National Scouting facilities).
Bob continues to instruct the Scouts on Scout skills, Swimming Merit Badge, Life Saving Merit Badge and several more. Bob also helps Eagle candidates in the Eagle Rank process and helps other Scouters (adult volunteers) in the learning process.
Bob is a great friend to all the Scouts and leaders and has great Scouting stories to share.
Bob holds the Religious Award and the Silver Beaver award.
Dr. Tony Deganhard
Assistant Scout Master
Tony has over 18 years of Scouting and is an Eagle Scout as well as a member of The Order of the Arrow (Arrowman Member). He has held several leader positions including Junior Assistant Scoutmaster (as a youth), Webelos Den Leader, Committee Member and is currently an Assistant Scout Master.
Tony has visited Philmont Scout Reservation (during the 50th year celebration) and continues to help our Scouts learn Scout skills and serves as a Counselor for several Merit Badges.
Guy Suffecool
Assistant Scout Master
Guy was a Cub Scout and earned his Arrow of Light, then crossed over into Boy Scouts. Later, when his son joined Scouting, he decided that he wanted to help lead the troop, so he joined Troop 265.
Guy has been with our troop for over 17 years and has guided our Scouts on several high adventures including Philmont and Seabase; he was also instrumental in created our own adventures with trips to Gettysburg, the Appalachian Trail and Patriots Point in Charleston, South Carolina.
Guy holds the District Award of Merit (2009) and serves as an Assistant Scout Master and Advancement Coordinator.
Terry Poe
Assistant Scout Master
Terry was a Cub Scout as a youth, and when his son was old enough to join Terry signed him up with Pack 923. When his son crossed over to Troop 265, he joined as an adult leader on the Committee and later changed his role to be Assistant Scout Master. Terry is a member of The Order of the Arrow (Arrowman Member).
Terry helps the organization by teaching our Scouts so many different life lessons and leading by example. He is always helping our Scouts with valuable lessons such as respect for those around them and patriotism.
Terry is very mechanically inclined and always there to lend a helping hand.
Shawn Brogan
Assistant Scout Manager
Shawn has been leading Scouts (both Cub and Boy Scouts) for over eight years; he has unbelievable artistic talent. He has the ability to create exciting activities to keep all Scouts engaged. When it comes to motivating a Scout of any age (even the adult Scouts!), Shawn can inspire them to go further and grow.
Shawn is always quick to help out whenever there is a need, and is an incredible cook. He has been instructing our Scouts to expand their pallet while learning how to be good cooks (not just hot dogs and burgers in this Troop – Shawn is king of the smoker!)
Debbie Snyder
Unit Parent Coordinator
Debbie is the first person you see at every Scout meeting. She is always there, just inside the door to greet the Scouts as they arrive, to ask them how they are doing in school, in sports, at home and of course with Scouting. She follows up with them on the merit badges they are working (how does she remember all of that?) and to make sure they take home the necessary paperwork such as flyers for the upcoming campout. Debbie has been a motivator for Scouts since 2008, helping Cub Scouts earn their ranks and helping Boy Scouts stay on task.
Debbie helps drive our program forward by helping with any task that needs to be worked, filling in any gaps and helping us stay on time and within budget. Debbie is a wonderfully caring person, always there as a friend and ready to tackle any challenge we face.
She is the Scout Mom for all of us, youth and adults alike and an integral part of our leadership team. Not all Troops are blessed to have a Unit Parent Coordinator, and we are thankful that we have Debbie.
